Biography[]

Early life[]

Poison Princess[]

It is suspected that Joules attacks Evie at her birthday party. Evie swears the lighting that is chasing her looks like javelins. Matthew shows Evie the ending of the ambush Joules, Gabe, and Calanthe launch against Death and Ogen. Joules tries to save Calanthe from Death (too late, as she'd already been touched by him) but Ogen attacks and Joules can only retreat as she dies.

Endless Knight[]

Joules and Gabe have now partnered with Tess Quinn, the World Card, and tracked Evie to Requiem. Since Death wants her, Joules is determined to thwart him in retaliation for Calanthe's death. Joules attacks Evie, despite her offer of an alliance, and she quickly immobilizes him. She is poised to kill him but ultimately agrees to spare him and his alliance if they agree not to hunt her alliance. A truce is struck and Matthew tells Joules he needs to leave the valley before the sun sets.

Dead of Winter[]

Day Zero[]

The Tower, Lord of Lightning, Joules has a character page with basic information. But if you want more of his story, as told through his point of view, it will not be provided in this book.

He is, however, mentioned in Calanthe's story, where it details how she was trained from a young age to play the game. Her goal was to make Joules fall in love with her so he'd be useful to her once the game started. As Joules was a choirboy, and would only be there for a short amount of time, she tried her best to get him to sleep with her, though he never did and instead said it should happen after they were wed. On his last day there, much to her surprise, she realized that she was also in love with him. She ends up telling him about the Arcana game. He appears as if he's about to leave, but he ends up staying. As they're reconciling they hear the subway car he was about to get on stop deep inside the tunnel, and then above them the solar flares begin and chaos erupts.
